Looking Up

The above picture I took about a month ago. It is of Venus and Jupiter and the very faint light to the upper left of Venus is the international space station.
Today I went outside to observe Venus during the day. It was just above the sliver of the moon. I lay on my back on my porch wrapped in a blanket with a pillow under my head for comfort. The wind was howling and the sun was bright but oh what an amazing sight!!! I never knew one could sometime see another planet during the day.
So many times everyone looks down or is immersed in their smart phones and iPods that they don’t see the world outside. Birds were singing. Ospreys calling, eagles and red tailed hawks soaring in the thermals. The wind blowing through the marsh grass clicking the hollow reeds together. The stars, planets and constellations remind us of who we are and where we came from. Look up and learn!
