Today started off with me waking up to the chug chug chug of a diesel engine of a work boat out on the river. It is a fairly quiet engine but the rhythmic pattern caught my subconscious and got me out of bed. After dressing, the dogs and I headed out for their morning walk. I would love to get a picture of the waterman on the river but I feel too self conscious standing on the riverbank trying to get a picture. And he is working and I don’t want to intrude. I respect he is trying to earn a living. The dogs and I came back inside for breakfast and to listen to NPR’s weekend shows.
I went into Easton to meet a friend who was helping me take donations to Goodwill. We then went to lunch, did some shopping and laughed until our sides hurt. I love that we can talk about anything, disagree about stuff, debate, laugh, accept each other as we are and have fun whether we sit around or go out. I am blessed to have friends near and far. Some friends I see everyday, some once in a while, some I just talk to on the phone and still others I just email but they are friends all the same. Good friends are a true treasure!
